Well, I don’t really know what to put here, haha.
I highly doubt anyone will read this, so it’s mainly for me to look back on in a couple of years and go “Huh. Neat.”
My name is Elli, and I am currently 29 years old! I grew up in a small town and now live in a slightly bigger town with my partner.
I have four cats: Lil’ Bit (Bitties, Ripstick, Stickles), Vader (Bubby, Bubbies, Bubbles, Bubduls), Lara (Larva, Lara Croft, Larma), and Oliver (Ollie, Olivine, Oil).
My dog, Ladybird (Bird, Birbus, Bird-dog, Lady-dog)
And my two hermit crabs, Hank and Dale.
I love to write and read, and have a very specific taste in media, haha.
My favorite book is Geek Love by Katherine Dunn. My favorite movies are Hereditary, Midsommar, O Brother Where Art Thou, and The Labyrinth. I also love Hannibal, Stargate, and any movies/shows that make me go “ow that hurted”.
I listen to all sorts of music, but lately southern gothic has had me in a chokehold. That good ole’ ominous yee-haw.
I play video games, mainly survival games as I love figuring things out and having to work to manage survival. Some of my favorites are Green Hell, The Forest (1&2), Project Zomboid, Citizen Sleeper, The Alters, Fallout, and Resident Evil.
My humor is incredibly influenced by niche youtube videos like the works of David Firth. Salad Fingers isn’t exactly niche anymore, I suppose, but his earlier videos definitely influenced my humor.
As you’ll notice, all of my characters are men. I don’t much enjoy reading or writing women characters. Not sure what that says about me, but hey, c’est la vie.
Surprise, surprise, I also like yaoi manga. Some of my favorites are A Tree Without Roots, Reverse Thinking, Minmotion Syndrome, Shutline, Blind Play and Killing Stalking (real original on that last one). I also really like Mignon (obviously).
My first real crush on a fictional character was Axel from Kingdom Hearts, which has obviously bled into my OC and my overall taste in men, haha. Next was Leon from Resident Evil 4 (shocker) which has also obviously had a huge impact on my characters.
I enjoy learning about why things and people are the way they are, and have a wealth of useless knowledge that will surely get me nowhere in life, but may earn a couple of “Oh, cool” comments at parties.
